Hello Friends,

I filed my N-400 in sep 2006 got interview letter yesterday for March 12th here in Miami. I am taking care of all the things from what learned from this forum however I have couple of questions regarding the traffic tickets I declared on the N-400.

1. I got 4 tickets and 2 were dismissed. I do not have original tickets or proofs, how do I get this information. I have driving history from DMV, will that do?

2. After interview do I get my naturalization papers right there, do I have to wait long for that?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Srini

If the tickets are not that old, you most likely will be able to go to the traffic court that handled your tickets and request a print out that shows the tickets were taken care of. Otherwise, I would think that a DMV printout shoud be enough.

As for the Naturalization Certificate...you don't get this till the day of the oath.

If Miami has same day Interview and Oath, then you will get on the same day. If not, you will get a letter from USCIS once you've passed the Interview and the Immigration Officer has recommended your application for approval stating where the oath is and when.

Hi andiron4334...I am not sure how the DMV in your state does things but here in California, I just filled out a request form online and then printed it out at home. I then brought this form to DMV, paid $5 and the lady at DMV printed out the request for my driving record on the spot and that was it.

Good luck! :)

Go to your local DMV office and ask for one.

The more usual way to get traffic ticket information is to request it from the clerk of the court where the offense took place.

Will the DMW printout show that the fine has been paid off? I think it just shows the points. correct me if I am wrong. I think if you do not have the ticket records you need to have both the DMW record and payment receipt from court. Is this the case??....please advice
