Interview Coming soon-Place of birth discrepancy (DS forms,Passport && bir. Certi.)

Hiii all,
I have interview in the next 5 days, however, I just discovered a discrepancy between a place of birth in the passport(xxx city) and in the birth certificate(yyy city) . I know consular stuff at embassy will carefully try matching information and details submitted previously in DS forms(DS 230 and others)..

The correct place of birth is in the birth certificate(yyy). However, In DV registration on net first time and DS forms I relayed on the one written in passport(xxx). I don't how much it will affect in making decision of interview.

I could correct that by sending correct place to KCC before, but now its too late to do that since my case is already here in US Embassy.
I can do one thing, I can go to our Embassy and ask to change the place of birth in the passport(I don't know how they are going to do it, but in worst case they will give me a letter stating I was born in 1/1/1111 in yyy City), but in this case it will contradict with XXX written in DS forms and I have to answer question "Why Should I wrote xxx when it's in fact yyy"

Do you think it will lead to deny visa issue ,?Help people I know some of you passed through similar situation to mine before

It can be a serious issue if your e-DV application does not match the date from the BC! This can easily result in a denial of the visa :(

Tazmania,
The date is matching but the place is not, Do you think it has any effect?
