I appeared for my inteview at cincinnati on 2 nd July and here is brief description of my experience.
I was called at 2.00 pm and not to report before 1.30 pm. By 2.00 pm , htere were only 3 or 4 persons in the hall. Sharp at 2.00 pm a lady officer came out and called my name. I was taken in her office and asked to be sitted after usual courtsies. She asked for my Passport, DL, and GC. She carefully examined the GC and DL but only casually looked through passport.
She asked about status of my wife and two children ( who all are LPRs). Then she went through every item on the application one by one. I confirmed them. She asked about my trips out of US since filing and I explained them, she added those days to my total days out of US in application and told me that it is no problem as I am still very much within limit and I am OK. I had on a seperate sheet of paper made out a list of my trips since filing and she was glad to have it as it saved her lot of botheration to calculate the same from my passport. She accepted that list and attached with my application as addendum.
I had requested for a name change im my application, so she asked me if I wanted to do that. As I gathered from this forum, name change may result in longer processing time or dalay in oath, so I said i do not wish to do that due to possible delay in oath. She said that it will not result in any delay and by not doing name change it would not speed up the oath time. So I agreed to do he name change.
She asked me to read a sentence and to write asimple sentence and then asked 10 history Qs. The Qs were generated from her computer and not selected by her. She marked my answers to each Qs on her computer . I had all 10 correct .
During the item by item going thru of application, she asked me if I paid all my taxes, if any taxes were outstanding and remaining unpaid. I had paid all taxes and nothing unpaid. I had my tax return transcripts of 5 yrs but she did not ask for and so I did not offer as she was satisfied without it.
She asked me if I had any traffic violation or tickets or DUIs. I had none so I said no , none whatsoever! She was satisfied. I had my record of driving history from BMV but she didn not ask for and so I did not offer.
She had asked about my marital status and if there was any change since filing. She asked me if my wife was a USC or LPR. I said LPR.
I had carried lots of papers and originals of all certificates but they were not needed. At the end, she even handed back to me the original interview letter .She congratulated me and handed over to me the letter . In all it took 12-15 minutes.
