Interview and oath

Folks,
I have my interview set for 1 PM at Newark. Does the oath happen on the same day? I am asking specifically because since the interview is in the afternoon (and not morning) will that leave enough time to do the oath on the same day?

It all depends. Some offices do same day oaths, some don't. Also it depends on if you are eligible that day for the oath. Mine was one week before I officially was eligible to become a USC, so I had to wait till I got the oath letter in the mail. Another thing is you have to have your interview accepted. Some people need to submit more documents before a decision will be made.

So with that, you'll find out if you can, when you're at the interview. They will tell you if they can do it that day or if you'll have to wait...
