I was laid off from my job back in December and I have an interview coming up. How is this going to affect my case?. I got a severance package, applied for unemployment benefits last April and I am using my savings.

Nothing.

You'll probably have to convince the IO that you are not doing anything illegal to make ends meet.

The fact that you are not working will not impact your citizenship application. However, as noted above, you will need to show how you are supporting yourself. Bank records, 401(k) statements etc. can help prove this as can pay stubs from spouse or other family member. Basically, they want to make sure you haven't turned to a life of crime. Might also help to prepare a folder on what you have been doing to seek new employment - resumes sent, employers contacted, interviews conducted, jobs applied for etc. That shows that you are making a good faith effort to seek employment. Probably not necessary, but better safe than sorry.

Should not affect in any way. I do not remember reading "Being Employed" as a criteria for citizenship.
Citations, arrests have its own affect.
