Internal Extended Review analysis

Frineds : Let gather some data and see what the hell this Internal Extended review is ?
I spoke to Agent and She told me my case is under extended internal review and I have been listioning this sh*t for over a year now.

Does any one else had same issue ? , What exactly this "Internal Extended Review" is ? Did anyone got out this mess ? If yes how long it took to do that ?

Have you taken an InfoPass to see what's the status of your case? I was once told months ago that my case was "pre adjudicated, pending review". I am planning to go to InfoPass on March 11th to find out if what NSC says is true or just same old hogwash.

"Additional Review which has caused a delay in processing my case" has been the generic term that USCIS has used in responding to each of my service requests over the past 2 years. If you ask me, it could be one of many, many USCIS internal procedures or inter-agency checks. The term itself does not give any clues on what the delay is.

"What is an "Extended Review?"

When people call service centers directly (see how here), they are sometimes told that their cases are under "extended review" or "additional review." We have not been able to obtain a clear definition from the USCIS regarding exactly what constitute an extended review, but here are three theories:

1. "Extended review" means "under review." It is a term loosely used by some representatives and could be anything, security checks, officer review, or in another word, just normal processing.

2. "Extended review" means "final review." It is referring to the final stage of the processing after security checks have been cleared and the case is ready to be adjudicated.

3. "Extended review" means "external review." It means USCIS is awaiting information from another government agency.

We will try to obtain clarification from the USCIS. Before an official answer is available, we tend to believe theory #1 is the case."

I'm guessing the web site probably hasn't received any clarification from USCIS yet.
