Internal Audit at INS

I learnt from Murthy's site that from Sept 23rd 2002 INS will be doing its annual audit. Does this mean that nothing will be processed during this period? The article clarifies that the approval letters will not be mailed (except Premium processing and emergency cases) until the audit is complete (expected to end on or before 8th Oct).
Can someone throw some light on this? Is this why the rupnet tracker shows tardy progress on GC approvals?

As mentioned in one of my other posts, apparently INS stops moving files within the organization duriing the Audit. However if an IIO is has all the required files for a case they probably will continue to scrutinize that case...THIS IS MY GUESS. Anyway its only a temporary delay for a few days....Lets not panick!!!!
