Interim EAD

My EAD renewal application was filed on 10/01/03, the actual one will be expired on 1/1/04. If the case is not approved at the date of expiration, can I get an interim one by walking into the local office at Newark NJ?

EAD expiring 02/04/04

I filed my EAD renewal on 12/4/03. I am in the same boat as you. Still waiting for my receipt notice. My I485 was transferred to local office on 12/8/03. Not sure whether my EAD extension will also be transferred to local office...
