interim EAD

Does anyone have any thoughts on interim EAD. ?

My H1-B visa expires in Aug. Which can be renewed for 2 more years, But I have filed for EAD. (ND 4/15). So even if I dont get my EAD by Aug, I think I can still get my interim EAD on July 16th (91 days). So is it a good idea to get on to EAD than renewing the h1-B visa. My company has paid for my EAD so they dont want to pay for h1-B extension.

Any suggestion or comments will be appreciated.

I had a friend just went to Boston loacal service to apply for interim EAD, been told such kind of service not provided anymore.
So make sure you are still on H1B, who knows any change of EAD approval date ?
