When dooes one get an interim EAD card ? is it after I140 application is cleared ? Or we are eligible for an Interim EAD card after certain number of months of I140 application or 485 application?

Incase the eb3 retrogression kicks in - how does it affect Interim EAD ?

You are eligible for iEAD if you have already applied for EAD, and it has been 90 days and you haven't received your EAD card. You can walk in (or take InfoPass appt) to the local CSC office and apply for iEAD.

EAD is applied along with 485 application only, and not with 140.

Does not matter, once you have an EAD application pending for more than 90 days, you can apply for iEAD.

One more condition - make sure your I140 is not on hold, if it is, you won't be able to get iEAD even it has been pending more than 90 days.

Hi hate140delay,
You mentioned that " Does not matter, once you have an EAD application pending for more than 90 days, you can apply for iEAD"

But due to retrogression If I am not able to apply concurrently ( and just have to apply for I140 , not 485), it would matter right ? Does it mean I cannot apply for EAD until the time the date for 485 application is current ?

If I cannot apply for the 485 but just I140 - how long do I have to continue working for current employer before I can change jobs ? Is that also dependant on the 485 application ?
I am trying to understand the consequences of the retrogression ( if it happens)

I am not sure about Visa retrogression, but if you cannot apply for 485, then you cannot apply for EAD.

Changing employers or AC21 is a hot button issue, but according to me, you should not change jobs unless your 140 is approved. The rule is that you can change jobs 180 days after your 485 application. So you would definitely need a 485 application for changing jobs.
