Interim EAD @ San Francisco

Hello,
I applied my for EAD renewal and its been over 90 days, I am now preparing to go to the San Francisco INS Office to accquire an Interim EAD. Could anybody with experience with the process advice me.

Also, how can one check the status of the EAD (I-765) application online.
