Interim EAD: Need some info

Hello All.
I (along with my wife) applied for I140 and I485 on Dec 27,2004 (concurrent, EB2). I have since received my EAD, but my wife hasn't.
- Any reasons why I have received it earlier, and she hasn't? Who do we call to find that out?
- I heard somewhere that I can apply for an interim EAD for my wife after 90 days of applying for AOS. Is it true?
- While I have an EAD, I am still on H1B. Will my wife getting an EAD automatically nullify my H1B status?
- In general, it is ok for her to get an EAD? Will it affect the process in anyway?

Any responses will be certainly appriciated.

A small correction,
both of us have received I765 EAD notice. Does that suffice to get a job, or an SSN for my wife (she's on H4 now)? Or do we neccessarily need to wait until she receives EAD card?
