Interim EAD in Atlanta

My 1st EAD will expire in Dec 18 and my 2nd EAD ND is Sept 3 and I'm still waiting. I plan to go Atlanta INS to apply for an Interim EAD. Could you please share some experience with me?

1. location. Is that INS office in Buford Highway?
2. time. What's the best time to go? When will it open everyday? Can I apply for Interim EAD BEFORE my 1st EAD expired?
3. documents needed. Besides original EAD card, new EAD receipt, driver's license and passport, what should i bring? Do I need to bring my I-485 receipt?

1) You should go to the Forsyth St/Rd office in downtown. INS webpage has detailed address and directions.

2) The suckers open at 7:30 am. Make sure you get there by 7:00am or earlier. Once 10 walk-in appoinments are gone, you are doomed for the day.

3) Contact your attorney for documents needed. Otherwise take all your docs related to GC.

My experience wasn't too good on Nov 19, 2002. I went there 90 days after EAD receipt date. Got there at 7:45 am and stood in line to find out, they already had 10 EAD seekers before me that day. The front desk guy was helpfull and said they don't do this kind of EAD renewals anymore according to the MEMO from INS. You can definitely try your luck. I didn't go after that, my EAD-RD was 08/13/02 and it was approved on Nov 30.

I'll try it next week and let you know whether they'll accept walk-in EAD application any more.

It sucks, they promised to process EAD case within 90 days. Since they forfeit their promise, they should do anything they can to avoid the loss. After all, it's their fault not to process the case as promised.
