Interim EAD in ATL Local INS

Hi folks,

Just fyi.

We (my wife & myself) went to Local INS (ATL) @7.30 AM today and got our EADs by 10.30AM. Initially the customer rep told that they can't issue more than certain numbers (???) and asked us to try our luck and gave us tokens. We 're very fortunate that after waiting for almost an hour the IIO and speding for almost 15 mins with her supervisor she has issued us EADs. The good thing is she gave us for a year ( I was told that they give only for 3 months). My attorney firm set us all the required docs (photo copies of I485, Orginal EAD receipts etc). They took the old EAD cards & original EAD receipts.

BTW, my current EAD expires on 11/26/02.

I485 RD 09/01/01 ND 11/01/01.

So you went there before the expiration of your EAD right.

My one is going to be expired on Dec'21 and it's in Oklahoma...though I am in NY right now and my family is in Oklahoma.

A little bit nervous seeing lots of things like "some service centers are not issuing Interim EAD" kind of things.

Plz let me know is there any other problem or not...

What are the certain numbers(????) you are talking about

Hi, I went to Local INS and no questions were asked ( I believe if it is more than 90 Days), only they told me that they can issue certain number of EADs per day. After discussing with IIO (she was very nice) and she somehow convinced her supervisor and she issued EADs for 1 year.

I know some local INS will not issue EADs, but in INS Atlanta will issue them (fortunately).

BTW, my ND 07/15/02 and still the web site says "Application Received....").
