Hello Friends
Happy New Year and sincerely pray that the new year brings cheers for all the fellow I485 applicants who are still pending.
My wife's case got stuck with the PD retrogression and also due to the fact that I filed her derivative 485 application just a month before my GC approval. I have applied for her EAD / AP renewal (paper filed) and the Notice Date is November 8th. From the other posts, I still see that folks who had filed in the end of october are still waiting. As said, hopefully USCIS should start clearing the back log due the holidays.
I am a little concerned in case it doesnt get approved in time. Her EAD expires on March 10th. I was wondering if I need to wait for the 90 day period to take an info pass appointment for the interim EAD in case things do not progress as I hoped. or Can I schedule an info pass appointment for sometime in february now? it's only been 60 days. Not sure how long does it take to get the appointment. All I am bothered is to get the EAD renewal in time so that she doesn't have to take a break from her job.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Technically, her's EAD should be approved within 90 days. If you expect it is going to be delayed because of uncertain reasons, there is nothing to lose to get info-pass aptt. If EAD comes in time, get it cancel (info-pass appt), otherwise avail it. Make sure to avoid any complication, cease to work on expiry date unless otherwise renewed/approved.

Can I go ahead and schedule an Infopass appointment for some time after Feb 8th (when the 90 day period would have crossed) now or I can only schedule the appointment after 90 days of filing?
anyone who has obtained interim EAD previosuly, could you please post what's the procedure for interim EAd. do we get it immediately?

Any suggestions?

Also, anyone who had filed EAD renewal at around the same time period and got approved, please post your details.
Thanks

check the calendar for the infopass appointments. sometimes it won't let you book more than 2 weeks ahead. which means that you will have to make the appt at the end of january.

i have taken interim EAD twice. both times fast and smoohtly. you get the card immediately. important to note is that they will check your receipt to confirm how long your EAD application has been pending. if >90, no issue. if it's a matter of few days then most likely no issue; if it's been pending 60d they will probably ask you to come back.

on my first i-EAD i went on the 90th day, and on the second i went on my 87th day.
