Hello,

EAD3 RD: 12/10/2003 (E-Filed VSC)

EAD renewal had been pending for over 90 days and current EAD
was going to expire 5/8/2004. Went to Baltimore CIS office
Tuesday 3/30/2004 a bit before 7:30 AM (they open at 7:30).

Went to room 101 station 1. Presented EAD receipt notice,
was given a number. The wait was not too long, number was
called. The officer checked the status of I-485 and explained
that they would contact VCS and ask them whether the local office
should issue EAD of whether VSC will issue it. They would
send a letter to this effect within 30 days. Including the wait
time for security at the entrance of the building, the whole thing
took around 1.5 hours.

Four days later (4/3/2004), the appointment letter arrived.
Appointment set for Tuesday 4/6/2004 10:00 AM (1 week after initial
visit). Went there this morning (room 101), checked in at station 1
and got a number. There were a lot of people, but EAD processing was
going extremely quickly. Documents required were listed on the
appointment letter (passport, current EAD, original appointment
letter). When the number was called, they took photo and signature.
Five minutes later, got EAD valid for ONE YEAR (3/31/2004 to
3/30/2005. The whole process, including initial wait, took less than 1.5
hours.

Note that they keep you current EAD when they give you the new one.

RD for I-485 is 3/29/2002, FP2 done 1/27/2004

Cheers
