I went to INS Philadelphia today and took all documents required for Interim EAD including Receipt for I-765 with RD 12/15/03 and all other papers. My EAD is expiring on April 15, 2004 and I had talked to INS Service Center and couple of Immigration Attorneys and they all told me that you can go anytime and will be given Interim EAD. I reached early and when my turn came, the officer told me that I can't get Interim EAD before 4/15/04. I requested her and also mentioned to her that INS Service Center has told me this but she did not listen and told me to come on or after 4/15/04. I wasted a trip and I will have to go back again next week.
Therefore anybody looking for Interim EAD at Philly should only visit on or after EAD expiry date.
