interim ead card

My ead expires 10/5/06 and want apply for an interim one at local office to stay w/my current job. My question is on what date I should count for the 90 days of waiting period, is the RD or ND on my receipt? Any advice will be appreciated.

I hope you understood it correctly.
Interim EAD is issued only when you have applied for an EAD and it has not been approved in 90 days from the RD. In your case, you already have an EAD which expires 10/5. I'm sure you applied for renewal 90 days before 10/5. If you dont see your EAD renewed before 10/5, you can get an Interim EAD on or after 10/5 (since it will be 90 days or more from your RD).
