Interim EAD at CherryHill NJ

My wife went to local office at CherryHill NJ on Jun 4, 2004/ last friday to apply the interim EAD since her EAD renewal application was over 90 days -- she applied first EAD renewal at Feb 18, 2004 online.

But the local officer at CherryHill told her that the interim EAD machine there is not working, and sometimes the machine is up, and sometime it is down. And ask her to check this week, I request them to call us when the machine is ready. But till now, the offices never called us yet.

Any one went to CherryHill NJ to get Interim EAD recently? Please let me know. Thanks
 
Can one pick any office to apply for iEAD or has to go to the one closest to his home address? How does Cherry Hill office compared with Newark office? How long is the wait? More or less hassle free? I live closer to Cherry Hill but if it's easier to get iEAD at Newark office, I don't mind drving further up there to be on the safe side. Thanks!
