Hello folks, I had earlier posted my story by mistake as a reply in another thread and so did not get any replies. So I'm creating a new thread. I would appreciate others who have faced similar situation to please reply. PLEASE HELP.

1) 07/09/04 Went to the local INS office in Arlington for Interim EAD
My & my wifes EAD expires Aug 09 04. I went to the local INS office on July 9th since my 90 days was up June 16 th. After waiting for hours in the line, the official informed me that a RFI was sent on June 20th (I later checked the case status online and saw that a letter was sent the same day by INS requesting more information). The official would not give me an interim EAD until the INS receives the information back from me. The official could not tell me what information the INS has requested (did not have access to the Database). I've still not received the letter and I'm kind of anxious to know if anyone in the forum has experienced this. If so, I would appreciate them to please reply to this post or send me an email to shanky1972@yahoo.com


2) Today 07/16/04:

Received letter from INS yesterday on July 15th asking for new set of photos. the letter saidThe photos sent for EAD renewal were the same ones sent for getting ur EAD the first time and are of poor quality. Please send us a new set of photos".
Took new photos and sent it to INS.

Now my Q is,

a) how long does it take for INS to update the case status once they receive the information I sent.

b) Will the local INS office in Arlington now issue me an INterim EAD?

c) If so, How soon should I go the office. Should I wait till the case status is updated online or can the adjudication officer at the local INS office check on their Database to see if its updated and issue me Interim EAD?

d) As of August 09. 2004, if INS does not have the information upadated, what will happen to my status, will I have to stop working? and what will happen to my green card status? (My 485 is pending; No finger printing done yet)

You have a lot of time

You seem to have enough time even now. You have till 9 August. I think before that they will surely update you status that they received your new pictures. I would go after I see that they have updated the status. You get the IEAD same day, so even if you have to wait till 8 August, it seems ok to me.

In worst case if you do not get any update till 9 Aug and then you are without EAD, then techincally "you should not take a paycheck".

Thanks KSNM for your quick response. I'm also hoping that INS updates their DB quickly. Once the web site says, that the information has been received, will the local INS Office give me an interim EAD without any problems?
