Interim EAD and SSN

Folks,

I have a question for all those people who have gone through the process of getting the Interim EAD . I had applied for my EAD and AP sometime in the month of Oct and still have not received my EAD . I am planning on going to the local INS office after completing my 90 days .

Could some one let me know the process in brief . Also , if my spouse is planning on getting her SSN after her EAD does she really need a job offer before she can get her SSN .

Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks,
Rotny

Take all your papers with you.

I-485 Receipt/Notice
I-140 Approval
Previous EAD cards/Approval letters

Go only after 90 days have passed, and they will do the rest.

No job is required to receive an SSN. The EAD, along with I-485 filing should be sufficient to get the SSN.

Thanks folks ,

Jbond, do we need the "approved" I-140 application . I had applied concurrently and hance my 140 is not yet apprp0ved . Could anyone please clarify this form me ?

Also, where do I have to go , meaning which office to get my Interim EAD and AP cards .

Thanks,
Rotny

I believe I-140 receipt will be fine if the case in pending.

thats the way everyone got first EAD. including me. I-140 was pending. doesn't matter it is ur first or second EAD. as long u have recipt/notice and case in pending no decission has made yet.

Thanks . Does anyone know where I need to be going to get these things done . In the UCIS web site I see that I can visit the local office at

Dallas District
8101 North Stemmons Freeway
Dallas, TX 75247

in Dallas to get my EAD and AP . Is this the right place to go to .. Is there a number to call them and find out .

Any previous experienced folks would probably know the answer I suppose .
