Interim EAD after September 1

I filed my EAD renewal 70 days before the current EAD expiration and I haven't received the approval yet. Current EAD expiring in 2 days and I went to local District Office to try my luck. Went in at 8:30, The lady at the counter insisted that it is not yet 90 days and I would be eligible for interim on Sep 23rd. She also mentioned that they will stop issuing Interim EAD starting Sep 1. So, If I do not get my renewal by Sep 23rd, what should I do? Did they completely stopped issuing IEAD or only local DO's will not be producing IEAD? Can someone guide me on how to obtain IEAD after Sep 1?
 
Which DO is your are reffering and what basis did you file ( AOS or L1) ?
