Interesting Statistics from VSC ... READ on!

Here goes the story:
Both my wife and I filed our I-485 with VSC in December 1999 (RD:12/23/99 ND:01/13/00) have EAC-00-075-XXXXX, however our last five digits are separated by 36 numbers i.e one of them is EAC-00-075-XXXnn and the other is EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+36).

..So out of curiousity I used the AVR system to check the status of all 36 EAC numbers between our petitions. Here are some interesting stats out of those 36 petitions (EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+1), EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+2), EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+3), ...,EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+35):

1. Only 5 of the 36 were I-485 (I assume so because the rest were either approved before June 2000
    or they are still pending and are *not* I-485s)
2. Of the five, two were transfered to INS Baltimore on Feb. 13th, 2001
3. The remaing three are still pending with INS
Of course these five do not include my wife\'s and my own I-485s ( EAC-00-075-XXXnn and EAC-00-075-XXX(nn+36)).

Now the interesting part is that two I-485s (with ND 01/13/2000) were transferred to Baltimore even though INS-VSC isn\'t actually processing ND 01/2000 cases.
Does this mean INS-VSC transfers cases even before they are due for adjudication?
Does this mean that other I-485s file on that day (Jan 13th 2000) have been spared from being transferred to local offices?

VSCRD122399: You are just picking up EAC# and dialing, those numbers need not be 485 numbers they can be EAD numbers they can be H1B numbers, they can be ids for other cases besides the list mentioned above..... Just for your info

Chutney...That\'s exactly what I say in my e-mail. Out of 36 EACs, only 5 are I-485 and out of those three are pending (because AVM has the standard message:"Your I-485 was received on blah blah&quot and there are two that were transferred to Baltimore ( AVM says "Your I-485 has been transferred to our Baltimore, MD office" ).

OH!!Yes Those two Baltimore transfer cases?? Perhaps INS has determined that they need to go to the local INS office because of some fundamental question that they need answer for??Usually the cases that are transferred are NIW cases where a self petetion can be filed ( for which they need to see you in person I guess), or RIR ( want to check the authenticity of the case) or during the process of the stay in US before filng for 485 INS sees some gaps in the stay ( out of status situation) they wish to be clarifed. These can be seen even before anything can be done on that case...
