I dont know if you are aware, but about 6-8 months back there was a 2 hour programme on channel 5 Fox news, about the US having faked the moon landing, and quite a few retired scientists and astronauts participated, and the overall feeling was that the landing was in fact faked.

some questions one never raises (not that one shouldn't, but just for the fear of sounding stupid)..........


This is one of those and I never knew who to or should be asked.....


I don't know if this moon landing in 1969 was fake or not but my mind never permitted me to believe that a space aircraft actually travelled (against gravity) 0.385 million kilometers and landed on moon.

Yes you are right, but how I wish I had recorded that programme, feel like kicking myself for not doing so.
 
that was an interesting program indeed... all the way down to how they even analyzed the reflections seen in the astronauts dark face shields in some of the photos

Made an almost convincing argument that it was fake. I would have believed it but for the fact that the russians, the chinese and anyone else who was plotting the course of Apollo would have had a field day with this (the cold war was really cold then) and US would have been the laughing stock - and we would all have been applying for USSR green cards
 
Could never figure out why somebody will take that much trouble to fake that.
Landing on Moon had its advantages. It was unknown and who knows what one might find. All covered with Gold(though now Oil is more important)
Also if it was a hoax and suppose USSR had landed immediately and found out about it, what would they have done?.
