Interesting letter for change of address after 485 approval

I received a letter today from Dept. of Homeland Security that
local UCIS notified them of a "change in address" and asking me to file an AR-11 form. I already got the passport stamping after 485 approval and am waiting for plastic card. I am not sure if this explains the unusual delay in getting the plastic card since many people who got stamped much after me got their cards already.

I had changed my residence soon after filing 485 in Nov. 2001 and my lawyer sent a letter indicating new address and my new address got updated in their system. However, I am not sure if lawyer filed an AR-11 back then.

Anyone of you, if you have any experience or opinion regarding thsi, please reply.

Even green card holders

Isn't it the case that even green card holders need to notify CIS of change of address thru AR-11?

I presume ar-11 notify change of address is mandatory for candidates including those 485 already approved.

All non-citizens are required to file Ar-11

AR-11 and INS

Change of address for all non-americans should be informed to Homeland dept using AR-11, this does not change the address on applications with INS.

you have to call them and make the change of address.
