Integration of FBI and INS(BCIS) fingerprint system delayed by one year.
Look into DOJ report in Immigration.com update section.

looks like 485 will be delayed more.
 
I think it's a good news for the time being.

Since, they know the existing process much better and it's working so far, it is as good as it is.

Enacting a new system, training people takes time and that may cause furhter delay.

If u read the full script the integration is an ongoing process. The completion of the project is delayed till dec 2003. That means that till dec 2003 it will be slow as now. BTW the integration was to fasten repitive fbi checks. but since it in implementation it will still take long time.They are still working on the project.
