insufficient affidavit of support question

hi guys,

I am the usc and wish to file gc for my wife. However, my parents put me as dependent along with my brother for the recent year tax return which make us household of 4, now with my wife, our total family household would be 5. Their adjust gross income is $32700, the 2013 125% poverty line is $34462. We could not find another joint sponsor atm. I was wondering is there any other options for me to make up the differences? I have heard using asset such as saving at 3 times the deficit would work, but I also heard that asset are not guarantee to satisfy the deficit. Thanks for any help!

It depends on the type of asset. Money in a US bank account is almost always accepted if it's been there for at least a few months (if it's been there for a shorter time they may be concerned that it's really somebody else's money which will be returned after GC approval) and isn't locked away for a long time like in a 3-year CD or being held as collateral.

For other assets it depends on various factors such as the money owed on it (if any), the ability to sell it quickly enough, and whether they think selling it would create hardship.
 
It's probably illegal in your country to marry your aunt. And it's a violation of US immigration law to seek an immigration benefit based on a sham marriage.

So whatever you're planning is a violation of 2 country's laws, and you won't get help with your plot on this board.

As for whether the US government can find out, yes the consulates have ways of finding out. They get birth and marriage records and other information from each country's government and can probably find out who all your cousins and grandparents are. People have been denied visas because of the overstays of close relatives.

I think and want to do this work cause i think the marriage is just a certificate and not mean all, but it can help me to gain a visa that is gain as hard
