INS special instructions for AP applications

I spoke with IIO today and found out that all AP applications where (I-485 is already pending) are requested to appear in person.

Does anyone have any more info on this.
Does anyone know why applicants must appear in person, (and what questions might be asked).

Ap = Advance Parole

If you call IIO (I called on national number), and ask what to do with the form once you have filled it in, they will ask whether you have I485 pending and if you do they will instruct you that you should appear in person.

nyaaa,

We have not seen such requirement yet. AP is usually approved
within a month and mailed to you directly.
