INS Screw Up

Here we go again after waiting for six months for my EAD and I-94 the INS first told me they can't find my file then said that its at the Nebraska center for processing of petion for the I-730.

So I was told to file for a new EAD at Nebraska so now I will have to wait for 90 days before anything happens.

Question on I-94 as I am a Asylee I was never issued a I-94 after the Judge granted me Asylum. The immigration officer told me to file I-102 to get my I-94 but where should I file it. As my file is in Nebraska service center should I file there or the service center that comes under my residence.

Any Advice.

I filed my I-102 in my local USCIS office. They issued I-94 in about 4-5 months without any fee.

Well you do not even need that darn EAD. Why waste your time and money for that document. All you need is the order from the ID granting you asylum and a photo ID proving your identity. Then the Social Security Adminsitration will issue you a normal social security card by which you can use to work.

A I-94 document is good to have..Its a legal document issued by INS stating you are indefinite..make sure u have it!...

I need the I-94 but how do I get it. I was told to file a I-102 form now they give you choices I am not sure what choice should I apply for.

1.I am applying to replace my lost or stolen Form I-94 (or I-94W).
2.I am applying to replace my lost or stolen Form I-95.
3.I am applying to replace Form I-94 (or I-94W) because it is mutilated. I have attached my original I-94 (or I-94W).
4.I am applying to replace Form I-95 because it is mutilated. I have attached my original I-95.
5.I was not issued a Form I-94 when I entered as a nonimmigrant, and I am filingthis application together with an application for an extension of stay/change of status.

Now I was issued a I-94 when I entered the US as I was on H4 when I applied for asylum my passport was taken along with the I-94. Got the asylum from IJ almost 6 months no I-94.

I was told to fill out this form but not sure what sure choice should I tick mark.

Oh yeah. I remember myself having hard time with those questions. I would recommend you to visit your local INS office and ask clerk if you can file the form over there and which option to choose from the above.
