INS Recorded Message Question

My I485 (EB3, India) receipt date is Aug 6 and notice date is Aug 27. But the INS recorded message says, they received my application on August 27.

Does this mean that INS processes 485s by Notice date or .... ?

That is what it looks like. Whenever there is a reference to the receipt date (by the INS), I have found them to actually mean Notice date & not the (actual) Receipt date....
