INS notification reqd after Indian Passport Renewal?

My passport expired recently (after 10 yrs) and I had to get a new Passport. This passport has a new Passport # etc.

Is there a form or something to let INS know of this change ? Are we even reqd to inform INS of this change ?

(I have a GC physical card since 2 yrs)

I don't think so.

And by the way, your new passport may have a note
something like "This passport is issued to replace
the passport number ######" where ###### is
your old passport number

A passport is simply a travel document and you are not required to inform the USCIS of a renewed passport. Your GC, along with a valid passport, is all that matters when re-entering.
