INS lost my passport

I was apply for greencard and advance parole at Orlando Florida and my advance parole was good till Oct 15,2002. I went back to thailand on Aug31,2002 and came back here to the US. on dec1,2002 that mean my advancd was expire. The immigration at the Miniapolis airport took my advance parole papers and my passport and told me they going to send them to INS office at Orlando and I got to go get them on dec 16,2002. I went to Orlando on dec 16,2002 but my passport and my papers was not there the Orlando Ins told me to go back again jan 6,2003. Today Jan 6,2003 i went back to Orlando my passport still was not there they told me to go back again Feb 5,2003. To me it looks like they lost my passport. My question is if they could not give me my passport on Feb 5,2003 can I tell them to give me $53.00 for me to get me a new passport from thai embassy in US. because I wanted to go back to Thailand. If anyone used to have this situation please let me know what I should do. thank you very much

How could INS possibly issue a passport from another country? They have no authority to issue a duplicate passport. The best you are likely to get is a contact name and number and a letter from INS explaining the loss. You will then need to get another passport from the relevant country (Thailand I assume).
 
hello Jim, thank you for your advice. I might put it wrong about can INS give me a new passport, I actually mean can I ask INS to pay for my new passport because if INS lost my passport I need to pay Thai emmbassy here $53.00 for new passport.

what happened to your Green card application?
Since you didnt enter before your Advance parole expiry date, was it cancelled and your AOS abandoned?
 
The Orlando INS told me to re-file for the green card if not they going to deport me, and now i am worry about the deportation process do you have any idea? what they going to do, are they going to put me in jail while waiting for a plane seat?
