Hopefully not! Indians have so far stayed out of Afghanistan and the teachings of Osama, hence have escaped from having to register. Also the radicals don't seem to hate America and Americans as much. If the situation continues Indians will probably be exempt, but it is an extremely fine line and registration might be a necessity for all aliens, in that case we would all have to go down to the local INS for a quick(?) registration!

Not only for the 200 million .......... But we have to worry about the political changes happening in India like siva sena forming suiside groups etc....... Resulting INS may look for the religion etc... If they started considering all these, our position is a question mark ?

I don't understand how a hate message against Shiv Sena could be pertinent to INS. I am rude because he is not doing this the first time. His earlier hate messages in this forum was removed later. Repeated kind and decent requests from so many members did not persuade WowGC to give up his hate campaign in this forum. He is again and again using this forum to spread venom on cetain parties and Hindus in general. Hence I used a rude language. Sorry if it offended others. There are hundreds of other forums to spread venom on BJP or ShivSena or on Hindus. Let him restrict his discussion only to INS. We are already having enough immigration issues to discuss here. Hope he will listen and desist from doing so in future.
 
It is 120 million but I get your point. There are more muslims in Indonesia than India; Also malaysia, singapore have large (%) muslims. As long as Indian Government puts its deed behind its words and actively supports US in the anti-terrorism efforts (and I dont see why not), the chances of the Indian muslim populace going the Laden way are slim.

Eventually every alien may need to register and it is hard to make a case for India to be exempt.

Try to understand the history of terrorist organisations. Terrorist groups or terrorist countries are not formed in a day or in a week or in a year. It was first started like siva sena's ss groups for the people? (No good sense human will support the suiside groups - What ever their aim is). Will you leave your parents, brothers, sisters and children and join this group. or Will you ask your parents, sisters , brothers and children for a suiside ? No. So don't encourage or support this kind of activity.

Even after 50 years of India's independence, still there are some people like you wants to keep the superiority over Hindus in the name of God.

Its all too real. INS has no qualms about detaining borderline cases. There are horror stories posted on all major sites like shusterman and murthy. Read them if you want to feel lucky.

Don't want to trivialize the issue, but it seems like the people who were referred for further inquires were those who were here illegally. I wonder what they are going to do about the hundreds of thousands of Mexicans who fall under the same category. But I guess who said life was fair?

We have managed to keep the CSC board clean of all hate messages unless the recipient is INS, and we would like to keep it that way. Please, no more personal attacks. Post your opinion by all means but personal attacks will destroy the closeness/effectiveness of this forum.

It may be true that mostly people who were out of status for some time in the past got into trouble but there are some cases where even others were also detained...

For e.g. see under Los Angeles, CA

status after applying for Aos

Does not the act of applying for Aos give the immigrant a legal stay here? Atleast that was what I thought.
All it takes, I am told is that the immigrant should be in a legal status at the time of applying for 485.
