INS Audit What is Involved

I was thinking of changing my Job while working for Company A on H1B so Company B aplied for my new H1B, I never joined Company B and have continued with Company A. Now I am being informed that INS wants to do an Audit of my case, what does this mean

The INS actually contacted my current Employer and wants to set up an interview with me. Our immigration lawyers have told me that the INS wants to verify that I am still working with them and my conditions of work and responsibilities etc...
I am not sure though and would like to see if anyone else has faced a similar condition
 
I\'ve never heard of this before.

I know INS is interviewing about 5000 people who have entered the US from countries that the US believes sponsor terrorism. Is that a possibility?

That does not look like a possibility, first of all I am not from one of the contries on the list and moreover they don\'t seem to be in a terrible hurry to do this, I would think they whould show some urgency if that was the case
