Are they approving most applications or being very stringent nowadays?

Just curious on what's the status now.

I have a feeling that the approvals for any given day in NSC is a direct function of how strong the morning coffee is for that given day...:)

Honestly, from what I have heard from folks who have gone through the process and who are currently filing and or waiting, things have become more stringent (especially the extra-ordinary categories) mainly because of competition.

I am from India and from an Indian's perspective, the competition we are currently experiencing is because of a surge in the student admissions in the early 2000s. When I started graduate school in 2001, there were more students admitted from India than from China for the first time in history and its been that way ever since. And its only going to continue that way. I'm proud that more Indians are being admitted to graduate schools all across the US and are successfully graduating but it also adds to the overall competition. The policy makers are aware of this and they want the best of the best to become PRs. And that's why things are becoming more stringent!

Its a dog-eat-dog world and gotta live with it. Charles Darwin is right...

You mean to say we will have even tough time as Starbucks is closing 600 stores. (j/k)
