Initial notice for interview

Yesterday I received initial notice for interview in the end of June. What does "initial" mean? Is this a standard way of putting the form and that IS the interview? Also would receiving the interview mean that my FBI background check cleared?

Thanks,
Stoil

"Initial": Thats is the standard verbage. Everyone's interview letter says that.
Receiving interview letter does not guarantee that your background checks are finished.

Would it be helpful if I obtain copy of the FBI Background report? Would this tell me that the background check is complete?

Thanks,
Stoil

I don't think you obtaining copy of FBI background data will help speedup background checks in any way.
There are tons of people who ordered their records through "Freedom of Information Act" which look clean and still stuck in name checks.

If I were you, I would stop worrying about this as name check processing is completely out of your hands at this point.
One needs to take action only when name check is not completed after 120 days after your interview. Keep your fingers crossed and just remember that
majority people have their name checks done by the time of interview appointment. Hopefully you will be one of them.

After you go there you will realize that it IS FINAL interview, if you have all docs in place. Good luck. Initial ain't mean nothin'

Is the interview, 99.99% of cases the only one. Don't panic, it is going to be OK, just, in your spare time, read the 100 civic/history Q&A and, like I've said, you'll be fine.
Come back, and post your experience.
Good luck
:)
