I have got a doubt.

How important is the contact name details while creating an appointment with consulate through ttvisas.com

I have enterted this as NIL.

Is this OK or do i need to change it which is a tedious process.

I think you should change it and provide all the necessary information even if its a tedious process and take some of your time. Yes If you are going to lose your current appointment then you can skip that. I know it take a while to book an appointment and you can't effor to lose that.
