Information needed

My friend's H1 as well as I-94 expired in aug 2003. But he has valid EAD upto June 2004. Now he wants to apply for his advance parole. Is it ok to send his expired I-94 along with the EAD ..?? or does he need to do something like renewal of I-94 or anything..??
If anyone has any information regarding this , please help..

I think that expired I-94 and EAD should suffice as long as there is no "hole" in their validities so that he can proof that he has never been out of status.

I have an expired H-1 and had have had no problem getting EAD and AP.
