Infopass - useless if case has not moved to DO?

Hi all,

Any thoughts on the question of thread would be much appreciated.

Here is my timeline. I scheduled an infopass for the second week of October hoping to gain more information regarding my case (everything is moving on time - if not earlier than usual - at this point) however I felt it wouldn't hurt if I met with an immigration officer to gain more information.

However, is the infopass useless if I could still track my case online? Does this mean that the Chicago DO has no record of my case at this point and that it is still in the Nebraska Service Center meaning that the IO won't know anything about my case?

Thanks all.

Dude,

You are getting annoying here. Look at my timeline and you will see approximate time on when you will be receiving interview letter, date and oath.

You are getting worked up about something you have no control, over. By setting infopass you are wasting yours as well as other's time who have very urgent matters to look into.

Try to be a responsible citizen and don't waste your time. Use Infopass for what it is meant. Please do the world a favor!

I was only hoping to see whether there is a name check issue so that I could do what I can on my side. If that won't help then I will cancel it.

Hey EO -- totally understand that you want to be proactive.

But in all likelihood, you will find out very soon based on the the standard times for Chicago. I'd strongly recommend that you start investigating only if you are outside of acceptable timelines.

Until then, chill, relax and enjoy your life :)

I cancelled the appointment, I just need to chill :)

Thanks for the reassurance. When did you receive the interview notice? How long after the FP? I will definitely take peoples' advice before scheduling an infopass. I already cancelled the one I had.

Good. Yes, you need to chill a little. Otherwise you will unnecessarily increase your blood pressure worrying about something you don't have any control over.
