I went for an early morning Infopass Appointment today to enquire about my pending 485 application.
Fortunately I got to talk to a polite lady officer who was kind enough to share her USCIS computer screen with me upon my request. She looked into every possible information about my case and finally she showed me a screen where sequence of events about the case were noted. I noted the following critical events on the screen regarding my case and I am sharing them as is(sorry I only remember the year for FBI fingerprint and namecheck fields):
FBI fingerprint check completed : --/--/06
Namecheck Pending since : --/--/05
Preadjudication completed : 10/26/06
She politely said that my case is under review for namecheck but my FBI fingerprint checks were cleared in 2006. She said I should be getting approval anytime since I have already passed over 2 years for namecheck. (I don't know if she was just acting nice here!
). She also said she can not predict or does not have any say into the namecheck as USCIS does not control namechecks.
So hang on folks...USCIS seem to have preadjudicated all the long pending cases and it's a matter of namecheck results reaching them. My attempts to expedite or enquire into namechecks through Senetors have not worked so far....So I guess it's just a game of luck!
