Infopass appointment findings

I had an infopass today and seems like not the local office makes your FP, Biometrix and interview appointment but some service center, I guess Chicago since we sent the file over there? I talked to an immigration officer, was very explicit, she assured me that all these cases are solved within the fiscal year, but she said " they like to leave them for the last moment". What more can I say? She also said that sometimes if you have everything in order it is possible not to be called for an interview just be granted permanent residency. She checked on the computer and in my case said everything seems alright, just wait and I'll have my appointments soon. And it is not a problem if you didn't submit the DSP 122 form to Kentucky; that was really bugging me.
I just tought that I share my experience with all that are doing AOS and waiting for notices of some kind. The general message I guess was we'll be fine and processed until the end of fiscal year.

From what I understand MSC are the letters that begin everybody's receipt number, everybody who filled AOS based on DV. That means our case is at MSC. I filled EAD for my wife, and now they process applications received Jan 29 2006 . So I guess one more month for me since our first notice was dated Feb 22? Could that be it or I'm going cucuu!
They don't show any dates for I 485. That's strange.
 
I have a question for everybody that have F1 visa and does or did AOS. Is it required to have an Affidavit of Support for the interview since you were required to have one at the time you got the visa F1? I have room and board offered by my sponsor, do I need another Affidavit of Support ? Can I just use the same paperwork. I'm a bit confused about this.
 
I dont know if it will help, but this is my case.....


In order to get F-1 I showed I-20 form that had the information about the fact that my school will be giving me teaching assistanship and tuition waiver.

My lawyer told me that I dont need affidavit of support (he read to me some stuff from some immigration law book or manual) that a letter from the Department Chair stating that I am employed by them and that my assistanship is guaranteed till the time I graduate is enough. So this is what I did, I just included the letter from the Chair.

I think to take affidavit of support (I-134) to the interview just in case they ask.

I got another appointment for FP and Biometrix for May 5. This letter was sent from Detroit office. I'll go for the first appointment though, but I think that's a good sigh because my case is at the local office now.

When you go to the first appointment show them your notices and they will tell you probably that you o not need to go to the second one.

Afraid is correct we also got two letters for biometry one form local office and other from USCIS another office, yesterday we had our FP after that we showed them the secound FP notice and they got our 2 nd letter and said we dont wonts to come for the secound FP apoinment, infact we keep the potocopy of the 2nd letters in anycase. good luck
