INFOPASS appointment at USCIS Federal Plaza NY office

Hi,

I have seen many threads saying that spending time/money in going to the NY Federal Plaza USCIS office for checking the status of the pending I-485 is useless. My I-485 is pending for the last 2 years and the priority date is current.

Anyone has a good/o.k experience in Federal Plaza and any suggestions please post.
