Folks,

I went for my 2nd InfoPass appointment today. It's not encouraging to say the least. The security folks outside the USCIS office told that they not entertaining EB I-485s any more in this office. I was stunned but recovered quickly and questioned them as to why they gave me this appoitment. They relented and allowed me to meet the IO.

IO was also reticent in giving any information initially. I persisted and then gave the below info:
My FP results have been received, all my background checks are clear, audit was done on 5/30, NOT assigned to an officer yet.

She did not respond to any of my other questions. She asked to call TSC over phone for further questions.

My guess is, retrogression is very imminent and they don't want to give any more InfoPass appointments.

I am now mentally reconciled for approval next year. Hopefully everyting happens for our good. Man Proposes, God disposes!!!

All the best! You will hear the good news soon!!

Folks,

The security folks outside the USCIS office told that they not entertaining EB I-485s any more in this office.

On 6/28 the lady in the counter issuing the token was saying "You may not get accurate update for Employment Based Cases; Anyhow you can go inside and hear the info which you may already know from case status on line"

Probably they are trying to discourage us from taking frequest infopass appointments:)

My guess is, retrogression is very imminent and they don't want to give any more InfoPass appointments.

During the retrogression in 2005, I never had any problem in taking infopass appointments and visiting Dallas district office.

Since you have completed FP in May, there are good chances that your case has been assigned visa number.

I was also told the officers are busy conducting interviews the whole day and so are not able to complete the review of pending files.

That is in line with what Congressman's office told me "My case has been approved but the officer has not updated the computer system yet"

So I am confident our approvals will be on the way soon. All the best:)

Thanks for the encouraging words Dallas03096!!! You may be right but my hopes have waned now... I also contacted my local congressman based on your advice and I'm expecting a response next week....hope he gives a postive news....

But my other concern is, the IO said my case has not assigned to an officer yet. The overwhelming opinion seems to be that all cases that are assigned to an officer are likely to be approved but not those that are not assigned. Hmm.

I've received similar statement from IO yesterday.
IO: "this office does not process any eb-based visas. you should not go here anymore".
ME: "infopass online system gives me your office as the only option"
IO: "ok, you have the right to come here"....
