I went to Infopass today to find out about my pending EAD renewal (3rd EAD) application and 485 status. I had an RFE on EAD and so far I have sent supporting docs 3 times, but no update so far. My current EAD is expiring soon. The officer said, they received docs and should allow another 90 days..??. When I asked about 485, she said "under review". When I specifically asked about N.C and Visa availability, she said " we dont have that information, unless the file is physically present. Lot of people are asking these questions and we dont know who is giving the false information that we can tell all this info".

My question is, If I dont get EAD before the expiration of current, do I need to stop working? Will it affect my legal status and 485 processing?

Thanks in advance.

I had infopass appointment today, spoke with a lady immigration officer, she said my security check and biometrics are received on Apr 30 2007 and now the application is under the review, but when I ask about name check she said that she don't have any information about that...

EAD has nothing to do with your legal status.

Unfortunately, if you have only the 485 status, you must stop working after the EAD expiration and wait for the EAD renewal approval. Working after EAD expiration will put you in to the "unauthorized work" and could cause some issue. I hope/wish, your EAD renewal approval to happen soon.

Totally False info they gave you.

They have every capability to check and see if your name check has been cleared. they can even tell you when it got cleared.

but the one thing they cant tell you is if your case has been assigned a visa# yer or not as for that the file has to be physically present.

Everything else they can see and tell. For me they told that my name check cleared in 2004 and my second infopass a week ago they told me my case was assigned to an officer on sep28 so they just lied to you maybe because too many people are asking these I guess

Yes- they can give all the info.... but they choose not to give based on our face, skin color, luck, if they had a bad day ..... also, i guess they have a rule that 1 in every 5 cases... they should not comply. If you are the unlucky ... then it happens.

watch the movie "rain maker" The insurance comp is given standing instructions to reject every x number of case. ALso they have to reject the first TWO times even if it is LEGITitimate..... - by that time, the person would loose all the energy to pursue further..... May we should rename CORP america to CRAP america....

Guys - watch the movie..... your heart and blood will start to boil...
