Info required in getting 7th Year H1-B Extension

Hi All

Can anyone let me know if I am eligible for a 7th year H1-B extension.

The situation is like this:

My 6th year of H1-B is expiring on 27th Aug 2005.
Labor was applied by company X on 23rd August 2004. (before the 365 day limit)
However I have joined company Y who also has applied for my H1-B which is approved and Foreign labor Application but on October 5th 2004. (less than 365 days limit).
I have the EDD receipt of labor applied by company X.
When can Company Y apply for 7th year extension using the condition that company "X" had applied 365 days before.

Appreciate all your inputs and responses. This will help me fight out my case with the attorneys.

Can I apply for 7th year extension very close to expiry of my 6th year H1-B or can I apply 6 months before.

If I apply the extension close to the 6th year expiry (say 24th August), what will be my legal status till my H1-B is cleared.

Please read through each line and answer to it, This will help me a big way.

However I have joined company Y who also has applied for my H1-B which is approved and Foreign labor Application but on October 5th 2004. (less than 365 days limit). ----------- Is your previous company holding on to the LC??
If yes then you can use the previous date to apply for extension after AUG 23rd 2005.
