Traveling to Cancun Mexico on 6 days pleasure trip this month. I-94 valid till Oct 2010, H1b valid till Feb 2009. Have few questions.

1) According to the automatic re-validation rule I have read, I think I qualify for automatic re-validation and do not need to surrender my I-94 for this trip. Please correct if this is wrong. My visa is still valid till next month.

2) On the airport, should I remove and keep the I-94 with me not allowing the airport staff from taking it or they would know? Would I need to convince them not to take my I-94?

3) On the way back in POE, would the immigration staff automatically know my case as automatic re-validation or would he/she be more inclined to give new I-94? Do I need to show the rule documentation to them to have AVR applied?

4) If AVR successfully gets applied, what would be my latest entry date in the USA? would it be same as old I-94 entry date or a new date in Jan?

Kindly reply as I need to make a decision quick.

Appreciate help.
