Info needed regarding CP

HI Friends ,
I need to know that if I opt for the CP what are my chances of its failure or acceptance based on the folowing current situation of mine.
One of my previous company is continuing my GC based on the fact to offer me job again in future. I worked for that company for 2 yrs till 2002 , after that I changed jobs and currently I am not with that company. But since my GC is still going with that company , I have options to opt for CP.
Just want to know if I opt for CP, will I be asked that right now I am not working for that company so they will straight forward reject it without any further consideration or they can still consider based on the fact that my employer is giving the job after getting the green card?
please advise me the various possibilities.

Since GC through employment is a future promise to give you a job, you do not need to be working with that company untill your GC is processed. So you are ok.They should not deny your GC due to this reason . But check with your attorney to confirm.
 
You would want to make sure that the old co. will be willing to give a notarized employment offer letter!

Thanks a lot for the replies. I will make sure to find from my employer for them to give the notarized employment letter , but I think that is required when I go to India for the CP, and I think they will give that with no problems. I was only concerned that since I am not working with them anymore and am still working in USA through diff H1 sponsor copmpany , will that kind of questions they can ask or not, which you guys cleared me though.

Many of my known friends and other person used to say that it is risky since i left the employer who is continuing my GC process.
