I have an interesting 180 day rule situation which
I\'ve been trying to research.
I currently work at a software company. My job is
quite specialized and I work in the area of my
doctoral work producing software to implement
the ideas. I filed under the EB-1 Outstanding
Researcher category.
After my AOS application has been pending for over
180 days I want to change jobs into Academia (ie
become a Professor).
In both jobs I will use my doctoral work and
the same core expertise. Should I change
jobs and hope the INS give me the green card ?
Or is it best to start the I140 case again.
I think the case is of interest to other people,
because at the bare bones it is someone using
the same expertise, but for different purposes.
In my case the purposes are: a) Make software,
b) research and teach.
Thanks,
Dr. Bongo
