Indian Visa from Washington DC?

If you live in Atlanta GA can you get visa from Indian Embassy at DC if you have an emergency? Or Do you still have to go to Houston doesn't matter whether you have emergency or not?

You probably can go to the Indian embassy in DC. They are open on Sundays for emergencies only

Thanks for the reply. Do you know whehther they will accept on regular days?

Here is the situation.

I have Nat Interview on 13th Feb and I have to fly on 20th to India. If I get the Nat. Certificate on 13th then I can fly to DC US passport agency to get the passport in one day. Then I will go to Indian emabassy in DC and get the Tourist visa. The Houston US passport office is very slow.

Now if DC embassy doesn't accept visa application of Georgia resident then I am stuck.

If you know anything about it please let me know.

I tried but nobody picks up the phone and also no one replies the email.

I will try again on Monday onward.

Few yrs ago, on our way to Canada, we obtained Indian visa for later use since it was walk-in (drop it in the morn and pick - up by 4PM), we gave it a try since it was in the downtown. They said they can't do GA, didn't wanna disappoint us either so they asked us to use local address for the appln purpose. So we went ahead and used our friend's address and obtained the visa. don't forget the site seeing between drop-off and pick-up that's what we did.
