Indian Passport Expired.

Hi

I am a US citizen. My wife is in the US awaiting a biometric finger printing appointment letter (applied for Adjustment of status, I 130 the whole package and received notice of actions). 2 days ago we noticed that her Indian passport has expired. It expired on the 26th of march 2011. Does any one know how to get this renewed? The embassy website in Washington DC does not have an option for renewal. called the embassy today to get information but no one, I mean no one is answering the phone. She needs to get this renewed ASAP because she needs to have a valid ID for her finger printing. We are based in northern, Virginia. Please help.

Thank you very much. My wife and I will read through the information and fill out the application. How long did it take for you to get your new passport or pass port's validiy renewed?
